On August 29, 2009 the Putnam County Board of Education is conducting a $56.7 million bond referendum to build and improve schools in our community.
This bond will provide money to build and improve schools and will also free up millions of dollars currently dedicated for building and construction maintenance. By freeing up these dollars, there may be additional discretionary money for the Board of Education to use toward other educational needs.
Additionally, the West Virginia School Building Authority gave the proposed projects in Putnam County its highest rating and pledged an additional $21.7 million if local citizens pass the referendum.
A vote for the school bond on August 29, 2009 will allow Putnam County to continue its tradition of educational excellence. By building and improving our school facilities, offering more cutting-edge technology to students, and providing local construction jobs, Putnam County will continue to shine as an economic and educational leader in West Virginia.
Vote FOR the school bond on August 29th!
